Sathguru Sri Thiagaraja Swami Aradhanai in Pondicherry

The Vidwans and Vidhwamsinis of Pondicherry have proposed to conduct the Aradhanai of Sathguru Sri Thiagaraja Swamigal, by rendering Pancha Rathna Krithis from 6.00 pm on Friday the 13th January 2012, in the premises of Sri Raja Ganapathy Sri Abaya Anjaneyar Temple, Avvai Nagar 3rd Main Road, Pondicherry 605008. The organisers request all music lovers to kindly attend in large numbers and grace the occasion.

Special Abanga Bhajan on account of Vaikunta Ekadasi

There is a Draupadi Amman Temple in Lawspet, which also has a shrine for Lord Sri Venkateswara. The Trustees of the above mentioned Temple proposed to have a Special Bhajan programme on the eve of Vaikunta Ekadasi which falls on 5th January 2012. They have accordingly arranged a special Abanga Nama Sankeerthanam by the famous group led by Smt. Savitha Sriram of Chennai for two and a half hours from 6pm to 8.30 pm on Thursday the 5th January 2012. The Trustees invite all the devotees to kindly make it convenient to attend the Abanga Bhajan with family and friends, enjoy the Abang Bhajan and gain the blessings of Lord Venkateswara on the Vaikunta Ekadasi Day.

Samashti Upanayanam in Pondicherry

Pudhuvai Brahmana Samooha Nala Sangam presided over by Sri Kalyanam Iyer conducted a Samashti Upanayanam for 12 boys, in Sri Raja Rajeswari Kalyana Mandapam, ECR, Pondicherry, on 20th November 2011. More than 700 people attended the Samashti Upanayanam. Prizes were also awarded to the best performers in last year's Plus Two and Matric exams by Sri P.R.Ramanathan, Rtd. I.A.S.Officer, Pondicherry in the same venue. The entire expenses for conducting the Samashti Upanayanam were met by a Philonthropist by name Sri Vaidyanatha Iyer of Bahoor. It was a grand function, arranged with the support of Sri Raja Sastrigal and Dr. S.A.S.Sharma, Research Scholar in the French Institute.
